Food Mattered Too Much To Me

When I first heard about Bay Area medical weight loss, I didn’t give it too much attention. I thought that it was for people who wanted to have weight loss surgery. Though I was having trouble losing the weight I was carrying around, I still did not want to have weight loss surgery to get the shape that I wanted. I knew that I would be able to do it on my own one day, and it turns out that the medical weight loss program that I had heard about actually was the right answer for me.

Rather than invasive surgery, the program was mainly about eating better. That was definitely the area where I had the most problems. I did get in a decent amount of activity because of my work, but I was always eating the wrong kinds of food.

When I first met with the doctor and he told me that it would be mainly shakes and a nutrition bar at first, I didn’t think I could do it. I liked food too much to just cut it out of my life, but he finally got through to me that eating how I was was really not living life to the fullest.

I had to admit that I was unhappy with my weight, and then I decided to try it for a few weeks. If nothing else, at least I could say I tried again. A funny thing happened though. I lost seven pounds that first week, and then I followed that up with two weeks of losing three pounds each. That is a total of thirteen pounds, which is more than I have ever lost even when dieting for months at a time. That was a few years ago, and I have been able to maintain a very healthy weight since I reached my goal.
